Stage 3: Document & Control

Aviation Manual And Approval Workflow

Keep every manual revision moving through a controlled review process

AviManuals is an aviation-focused document workflow solution for manual records, revisions, reference fields, due dates, owners, reusable templates, review and approval stages, signature coordination, dashboards, and audit history. It supports the controlled administration of manuals but does not create regulatory approval or certify that the content meets a standard.

  • Serves
    • Document controllers, manual owners, and quality and compliance staff
    • Technical managers, reviewers and approvers
    • Regulated settings: airlines, operators, CAMO and MRO organisations, flight-training organisations, aviation consultancies, and more

What it helps you do

1. Build a controlled manual register

Create a record with document ID, title, type, department, owner, revision, status, priority, due date, tags, and reference information. Filters make it easier to find manuals by operational context.

2. Track revision and status

Follow a document from draft through review, pending approval, approval, rejection, signature, or archive. The current state and deadline remain visible without relying on the filename alone.

3. Assign review and approval steps

Define a sequence such as drafting, internal review, approval, signature, and distribution, with a responsible role for each stage. The workflow makes the expected hand-off explicit.

4. Reuse controlled structures

Maintain corporate or standard document templates and import Word or PDF source material into the working library. Template content and regulatory suitability must still be reviewed by the organisation.

5. Coordinate signature activity

Create signing envelopes, assign one or more signers, and follow pending, completed, rejected, or expired status. The legal effect and technical assurance of a signature depend on the configured signing method and implementation.

6. Separate roles and responsibilities

Use administrator, document-manager, auditor, and read-only roles across departments. Restricted views help keep administration and audit history separate from routine access.

7. Review activity and export records

Dashboards show document, signature, expiry, and workflow status. Document lists, reports, and audit information can be exported for internal review, subject to the supported format and deployment.

Scope and important limits

AviManuals manages the document workflow; it does not automatically write a complete manual, supply licensed standards, certify templates, verify every regulatory requirement, or obtain authority approval. Records reflect the organisation's own inputs, and the customer remains responsible for using authorised source material, applying the correct regulatory edition, and confirming any signature, distribution or authority-submission requirement for the deployment.
