Stage 5: Verify & Audit

Multi-sector Greenhouse Gas Inventory Management

GHG inventory solution for ISO 14064 preparation

EcoSuite 14064 is a multi-sector greenhouse gas inventory workspace for organisations preparing inventory and evidence work with reference to ISO 14064. It supports organisation-level inventory records, project baselines, and monitoring information, and preparation of evidence for an independent verification engagement; it does not provide certification or a verification opinion.

  • Serves
    • Sustainability managers, environmental and QHSE teams
    • Carbon-accounting leads, finance and operational data owners, internal reviewers, and consultants
    • Multi-site and multi-sector organisations needing a more controlled inventory process

What it helps you do

1. Define the organisation and inventory boundary

Record the reporting period, organisational approach, base year, included operations, exclusions, responsibilities, and recalculation policy. This gives reviewers the context needed to understand what the inventory covers.

2. Build a traceable emission-source register

List direct and indirect sources, place them in the relevant ISO 14064-1 reporting category, and document why each source is included or excluded. Scope 1, 2 and 3 views can be used as an additional management view without replacing the standard's category structure.

3. Calculate from controlled inputs

Enter or import activity data and apply emission factors selected for the inventory. Each factor record should carry its unit, source, publication year, geography, and calculation boundary so the organisation can check that it is suitable before use.

4. Compare performance and plan reductions

Review totals, category distribution, base-year movement, and intensity against a configured activity measure. Record reduction objectives, owners, dates, expected effects, and progress without presenting planned savings as verified results.

5. Structure mitigation-project records

For teams using ISO 14064-2 as a reference, organise project sources, sinks, and reservoirs, the baseline and project scenarios, leakage, monitoring parameters, responsibilities, and data-quality notes.

6. Prepare evidence for independent verification

Maintain the proposed engagement scope, evidence list, risk-based review activities, open findings, and resolutions. These records help a competent verifier perform their work but do not create or replace the verifier's independent conclusion.

7. Import, preserve, and present the working file

The reviewed edition accepts CSV data for activity and factor records, supports a JSON working-file export, and produces printable inventory reports. Document-control entries help the team explain changes between versions.

Scope and important limits

EcoSuite 14064 supports inventory organisation and evidence preparation with reference to ISO 14064; it does not certify an organisation, validate a project, independently verify a GHG statement, or issue a verification opinion. Records reflect the organisation's configured data and recorded judgements, and every emission factor and applicable standard must be validated and appropriately licensed at its authoritative source.
